We joined Manutan Group in 2013, and that combination is what makes us different: the focus and expertise of a specialist brand, backed by the scale and support of a European group. Everything happens from our one site in Basildon, which means a team that knows each other well and decisions that move fast.

Our roles
At IronmongeryDirect, our contact centre and customer service teams are at the heart of what we do, supporting trade customers six days a week. Our warehouse and supply chain teams keep over 19,000 products moving and orders on time. Alongside them, our digital, marketing and merchandising teams shape how customers discover and buy from us, while finance and support functions keep the business running smoothly.
Being part of Manutan Group also means real internal mobility: many of our team have built their career by moving between departments, not just up.
Mental health & wellbeing
Working in the trades can be demanding, and we don't shy away from that. Through our Mental Health in the Trades report and Mental Health Awareness Week, we help keep the conversation open. We also run regular Brew Monday get-togethers: inspired by the idea that there's no such thing as a "blue Monday", the team swaps the blues for a brew, takes a break together, and genuinely checks in on how everyone's doing.
Community & giving back
We support Basildon Mind, a local charity focused on mental health, through fundraising and donations. Throughout the year, our team also gets involved in bake sales for the Alzheimer's Society, Movember, and a Christmas raffle, raising over £1,000 for charity last year alone.
Team spirit
Once a year, we hold an IT auction, giving employees the chance to buy laptops and tech at a great price, with every penny raised going to a local charity. During WOW Loves You Week, we also take a full week to celebrate our people, our community and each other.
Diversity & inclusion
Each year, we mark International Women's Day by supporting a local women's shelter. Rather than donating money, we buy exactly what they need, from cleaning supplies to hygiene products.
